ORUPA - Genuine Odishan Handicrafts

Orupa (Orissa Rural and Urban Producers' Association) promotes handicrafts exclusive to the state of Odisha(erstwhile Kalinga).

Once I visited their showroom in Bhubaneswar. The cozy small boutique outlet has a wide range of items Pattachita (Palm Leaf Painting ) to Dhokra ( Bell Metal) Jewellary. I picked up many pairs of brass jewelries hand-made by tribal women of Koraput. My friend bought few tablemates made of golden grass. We bargained a very economical deal.

The store salesperson was very cooperative and showed us Applique wall hangings from Pipli( a craft village near Puri) , Horn Craft from Paralekhmundi (District Headquarters of Gajapati District, Odisha), Silver Filigree from Cuttack( District, Odisha), Stone Sculptures, Bamboo Craft, Wooden Toys, Coir Works......

You can buy products from their outlet or can book for bulk purchase. Contact here.
